 Desborough Bowling Club has once again got National Champions on their honours board as Jan Frost, Gill Jones and Mary Price won the Ladies Over 50 Triples for 2019/20 at Nottingham. These finals were rescheduled because of the pandemic and they began with a preliminary round against Wellingborough followed by subsequent wins against Lincoln, Northampton and Madiera. It then all culminated with a final against North Wilts which they won 21 – 12 to earn their title.

Sometimes you must put some games of bowls down to experience as Desborough found when they travelled to Whiteknights for the National Top Club. They were no match for their talented opponents but I’m sure that our players learnt some valuable lessons for future matches.
