Simran Thaman representing Desborough BC played Morgan Merryweather (Island Bohemian) in the County Junior singles final at Tilehurst last week-end. Simran played well but the more experienced Morgan proved too good for her, winning 21-13.

After the disappointment of not playing the game against Suttons because of the weather, Desborough welcomed Hurst to Green Lane for the final game of the outdoor season which took place under floodlights. It was a tense game which could have gone either way as the 6 rinks were shared but at the end Desborough won by 111 shots to 92. The rinks skipped by Eric Sharp and Tony Buckley returned winning scorecards but there was no doubting the top rink as Marina Bignell, Dave Turner and Linda Harvey won 32 – 6.

The rink will now be put to bed and we look forward to all the players now moving to our indoor rinks. Do remember that every Monday and Wednesday there is an organized indoors roll up from 9:30am until 11:30am. Everyone must arrive by 9:15am and you will be selected into a team. Any indoor member of Desborough Indoor Bowling Club may turn up and they will have a game. Enjoy
